The solution for insulating the building, while providing heating, cooling and air renewal in each room.
Concept
This industrialised solution insulates the passive building façade thermically, avoiding condensation risks and offering different aesthetic appeals. The ventilation unit (VMU) is integrated into the façade with pipes and ducts to and connected to the centralized Heath Pump (HP) system for heating and cooling and air renewal. The integrated solution also features windows.
We compare the prefabricated solution with 2 possible scenarios:
OPTION 1: Each room requires a split system for heating and cooling, and a punctual ventilation unit.
OPTION 2: Only one ventilation unit is required for the whole apartment.
Manufacturing
Traditional façade and windows
Single elements are separately produced and sent it to the building site from different factories
Prefabricated integrated façade
Individual elements are fabricated separately and delivered to the prefabricated façade manufacturer. All components, including windows, ducts, and VMU, are assembled in the factory to form a unified module, which is then transported to the site
Waste
Traditional façade and windows
-
Prefabricated integrated façade
Limited due to factory optimization and correctly separated, stored and recycled
Assembly time
Traditional façade and windows
-
Prefabricated integrated façade
10 working days for 100 sqm
Transportation
Traditional façade and windows
From each different factory to the building site or to the contractors and then to the site
Prefabricated integrated façade
From the factory to the building site
Installation time
Traditional façade and windows
OPTION 1 46,5 working days for a 100 sqm in 2 workers
Installation process in detail
Site preparation, erection of scaffolding, and allocation of materials storage.
Façade cleaning and surface preparation.
Installation of brackets and anchoring systems to the structural wall.
Preparation of the external units for the split system for each apartment;
Application and securement of insulation panels using disc-shaped dowels.
Application of waterproofing membrane, ensuring the substructure penetrates appropriately.
Installation of substructure;
Installation of cladding panels
Finishing works, including module connections at corners, upper and lower sections
Installation of the external split unit;
Installation of the split unit in each room, including pipes;
Installation of punctual ventilation unit embedded into the window or into the wall, and cladding for each room;
Painting the rooms
